How do you run a recovery on your computer if you downgraded from vista to windows?

I took my Toshiba laptop to a computer store to downgrade to Windows. I used the laptop for work and now that I have relocated to another state, I am having problems with the drivers that my job installed and have trouble getting access to the internet. I need to run a recovery but I don't have the cd. Do I need to get one for windows or vista (laptop originally had vista pre-installed)?

dont get vista

  1. You probably just need to install the chipset drivers for XP. This would affect everything you stated. Go to your manufactors website and get the xp drivers for your chipset/lan/… Install on the laptop. One problem that was coming up for a while is that all the pre-fab systems that were put out for a while had only the Vista drivers available. If that is the case. I would suggest going online and finding a copy of Windows 7 beta. It is easy to find, and the best OS I have ever used. Far beyond XP or the worst Vista(also known as ME part 2). Windows 7 is compatible with just about everything out of box.
