		<description>You probably just need to install the chipset drivers for XP. This would affect everything you stated. Go to your manufactors website and get the xp drivers for your chipset/lan/... Install on the laptop. One problem that was coming up for a while is that all the pre-fab systems that were put out for a while had only the Vista drivers available. If that is the case. I would suggest going online and finding a copy of Windows 7 beta. It is easy to find, and the best OS I have ever used. Far beyond XP or the worst Vista(also known as ME part 2).
